INDIANAPOLIS [mdash] Dennis Lee Plackard, 70, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 23, 2017.
He was born July 15, 1946, in Anderson, to Donald and Betty Plackard.
Dennis was a graduate of Alexandria High School and GM Technical Degree Program. He was retired from General Motors, and as a deputy appraiser of the Madison County Assessor's office.
Dennis was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed camping. One of his greatest loves was spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy Manis; children, Damon Plackard of Nashville, Tenn., Daron (Tami) Plackard of Kansas City, Mo., Steffani (Dave) Walston of Indianapolis, Dawn (Doug) Beckner of Pendleton, and Jodi Plackard, (unknown); eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Susan Plackard of Anderson; brother-in-law, Terry (Karen) Stephens of Anderson; and sister-in-law, Janet (Edward) Cooper of Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
mother-in-law, Ruby McDermott.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at East 38th Street Free Will Baptist Church, 1125 E. 38th St., Anderson, with Pastor Carroll.Cullipher officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service Monday at the church.
Arrangements entrusted to Albertsons Mortuary, Sherman Chapel, Indianapolis.
