Donald Dwain Armstrong, 57, passed away peacefully April 12, 2017, in his home at Middletown.
He was born July 16, 1959, in Anderson, the son of Bob and Fran Armstrong.
Don graduated from Anderson High School in 1977, and then served in the U.S. Army.
After his military service, he returned to Anderson, where he met his love, MaryAnn Bruns, who was destined to become his wife and mother of their two children.
Don had a variety of jobs, but it became obvious that he was best fitted to serve in the restaurant business. During his career, he held managerial positions at Krispy Kreme Donuts in Castleton, as well as Bob Evans and Pizza King restaurants in Anderson. His health forced him into retirement three years ago.
A jovial sort, Donny was quick to laugh and play games, but the most enjoyable time in his life began after the birth of his only grandchild, Jacob, who is now 4 and a half years old.
Don is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; son, Donald J. (Becky); daughter, Rebecca (Brittany); grandson, Jacob; step-grandson, Jaiden; parents, Bob and Fran Armstrong; brothers, Rusty Armstrong, Pat (Bonnie) Armstrong; sisters, Susie (Bruce) VanMatre, Sandy (Jeff) Williams, Sherryl (Eric) Barnes, Robin (Dean) McGary; parents-in-law, Bernard and Becky Bruns; and innumerable brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A military honor service will be held at Legacy Funeral Services, 504 W. Ninth St., Anderson, on Friday at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.
