Doris V. (Sanders) Thompson, 93, Anderson, died Jan. 12, 2017, at Monticello House after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Anderson to Theodore Thorton and Lulu (Brooks) Sanders. She was a sales clerk for Hoyt Wright Department Store for 32 years.
She is survived by her children, Ray Thompson, Middletown, Melanie (Ed) Clawson, Anderson, Stephanie (Ron) Grissom, Markleville and Claude (Michelle) Johnson, Columbus; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; sister, Mary Patricia Eckhardt, Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Byford Eugene Thompson, who died Jan. 27, 2001; daughter-in-law, Lynn Thompson; granddaughter, Angie Thompson; and four siblings, Paul, Margaret, Don and Jeanne.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Matt Manning of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
