Dwain Herbert Booher, 84, of Hickory, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Four Seasons Compassion for Life in Brevard, N.C. Dwain was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Albany, Ky., to Edwin Herbert Booher and Dora Ann Branam Booher.
A U.S. Army Veteran, he retired from General Motors after 37 years working as a design engineer. He attended First United Methodist Church and loved riding his motorcycle and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rick Booher; and sister, Sarah Davis.
Dwain is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Kerr Booher of the home; son, Mark Booher of Carlisle, Ind.; daughters, Jenita Davidson of Texas, Susan Bozzo of Flagler Beach, Fla., Beth Cook of Medina, Ohio, and Suellen Judge of Hickory; grandchildren, Samuel Booher, Ryan Wayne, Lauren Biscamp, Rachel Ditton, Tyler Ditton, Amanda Cook, Stephanie Cook, Ross Cook, Christa Melton, Lindsay Bowman, and Emily Mingus; 16 great- grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Carl Davis.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
