Earl R. Wilson's life began on Feb 20, 1937, to his parents, Richard S. Wilson and Marie Hughes in Anderson where he resided for 13 years. He moved to Chicago, Ill., and attended various schools. He joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and transferred to France at the U.S. Air Force Base in Château-roux. He was a flight controller and married Mireille Helan in 1956 (preceded in death) and a son was born Richard O. Wilson. Earl was stationed in Italy and Germany and was discharged in Marquette, Mich., in 1962. He was in the Air Force reserves for numerous years. Earl worked as a transport manager at Pepsi Cola and then to Louis Zahn Drug Co. as a transport and logistic manager.
Earl Wilson and Pecola Williams had two children, Carlowe and Pecola Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, children, Richard Wilson, Carlowe Wilson and Pecola Wilson; stepchildren; sisters, Phyllis Warner, Anderson, Marie Johnson, Las Vegas, Nev., Lolita (Charles) Hall, Liberty Township, Ohio; brothers, Gordon (Sarah) Wilson, Anderson, and Richard(Edith) Wilson, Pacoima, Calif., Carl Wilson, San Diego, Calif., David(Kelly)Hughes, Hamilton, Ohio, and Cedric(Sandy)Hughes of Reno, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Darlene Lofton and Carolyn Troutman.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at New Hope United Methodist Church. Viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m.
Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery.
