Edmond Denny Morris, 101, of Anderson, passed away on April 21, 2017, at the Elmcroft Heartland Village of Muncie.
He was born on June 3, 1915, in Salem, Ind., and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Edmond attended Salem High School. He served his country in the United States Army Calvary during World War II in the Pacific Arena.
He was a dairy farmer, and also worked as a maintenance repairman for Delco Remy and retired after 32 years of service.
He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. He enjoyed small engine repair, driving his truck, being in the outdoors, and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Edmond is survived by his loving children, Dr. Stephen O. Morris of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Brenda M. (Jay) Jarrett of Pendleton; grandchildren, Jayson M. (Jennifer) Jarrett of Lafayette, and Natalie D. Jarrett of Louisville, Ky. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Martha J. (Owens) Morris; parents, Anson and Delia (Denny) Morris; twin daughters, Sylvia Sue and Linda Lou Morris; siblings, Ina (Ray) Redding, Dessa (Francis) Hirtzel, Catherine (Claud) Rosenbaum, Osborne (Genetta) Morris, Marcella (Irvin) Cauble, Elbert Morris, and Elsie Morris; niece, Linda Rosebaum; and nephew, Ozzie Morris.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Elmcroft Heartland Village Memory Care for taking such great care of Dad these last 6.5 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the LMPD Mounted Patrol Unit, 7000 Sanders Gate Road, Louisville, KY 40214. His granddaughter, Natalie is a member of this unit.
