Edna M Mahon, 86, of Anderson, passed away Aug. 4, 2017, at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born on March 18, 1931, in Patoka, Indiana.
Edna graduated from Oakland City College with a bachelor's degree and also graduated from Ball State University with a master's degree.
She retired from Anderson School Corporation, where she was a teacher.
She was a member of South Meridian Church of God.
Edna is survived by her two sons, Robert (Tammy) Mahon of Cambridge City and Paul Mahon of Traverse City, Michigan; daughter, Paula (Don) Gniffke of Anderson; brother, Leonard Hartley; three sisters, Mary Herring, Anna Lee Williams and Mildred Corzine; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Lucas) Burdess, Heather Mahon, Alex Mahon, Adam Mahon, Nathan Gniffke, Jeremy Gniffke, Maggie Gniffke, Samantha Mahon and Joey Mahon; and great-grandson, Harry Burdess.
She was preceded in death by her father, Golden Hartley; mother, Elva Hartley; husband, Jarrell H. Mahon; sister, Ina Edwards; and grandson, Cody Mahon.
Visitation will be held 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ed Hyatt officiating.
Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
