Elizabeth 'Betty''s Story
Elizabeth "Betty" Linville, 79, passed away surrounded by family members at 5:24 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Care in Columbus, Indiana, following a lengthy illness.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William Wright Sr. and Esther Lucille Marks; sister, Wilma(Frank) Adamson; Donna(Max)Huse; and companion of 36 years, Will Carter.
Betty was born Sept 28, 1937, in Dekalb, Illinois, and lived most of her life in Anderson and Clearwater, Florida. She was the daughter of William Wright Sr. and Esther Marks (Middletown).
Betty was an artist and free spirit with a mind for business. She attended The John Herron School of Art for four years and was reknown for her paintings, some of which may be viewed throughout the state of Indiana. Her specialty was plein air painting, use of pallette knife, and all mediums of watercolor, acrylic and oil. Her favorite pastimes were spending times with her family and friends and living life to the fullest every moment possible. She was an encourager, compassionate, colorful person who always wanted those around her to follow their dreams without limitations.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Boots; sons, Steven R. Smith, Scott E. Linville and Mitchell T.J. Linville; 10 grandchildren, Bree, Alex, Lindsay, Dustin, Tiffany, Anthony, Chelsea, Rileigh, Sarah and Taylor; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Wright Jr.(Patty), Don Wright (Bonnie), Bob Wright and Lonnie Marks; and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends.
A special mention of gratitude and love to: UB (Bob Wright), Teresa (Wright) Cross, caregivers, Missy, Diane, Ursula, Sandy, Joyce, Laura and Our Hospice of Southern Indiana.
A private remembrance gathering will be celebrated at a later date and time with members of the immediate family. In honor of Betty, celebrate her memory with a thought today of flowers, colors and light. Somewhere in heaven she is on a beach painting the sky...
