Elizabeth Carol Wardwell, 80, of Elwood, was carried to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at her residence after an extended illness.
Carol was born on Nov. 28, 1936, and was the daughter of Calvin and Jenny (Bishop) Shaw. On Oct 31, 1953, she married Charles C Wardwell who survives.
Carol was retired from Eagle Collection in Marion, where she was a collection specialist.
Carol was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always enjoyed spending time with her family. Because of her love and devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ she was an active member of the Harmony Christian Church where she enjoyed worshiping with her faith family.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charles; her sons, Chris (Rebekah) Wardwell of Orlando, Fla., and Michael Wardwell of Elwood; her daughter, Wendy (David) Montgomery of Alexandria; a sister, Shelba (Kenneth) Enright of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; stepsister, Glennie Stafford, Three Oaks, Mich.; three grandchildren, Clint (Alison Massengill) Montgomery, Victoria Montgomery and Hope Montgomery; and one great-grandchild, Braylon Montgomery.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Wardwell; three brothers, Estel Shaw, Gene Shaw and Max Shaw; and a sister, Madonna Shaw.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. in the Harmony Christian Church, 9043 W. 1800N, Elwood, with the Rev. Ron Meyers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the Harmony Christian Church, 9043 W. 1800N, Elwood, IN 46036.
