Emily's Story

Emily Elizabeth Nikirk, 33, Chesterfield, was called home January 1, 2017 after a five year battle with cancer.
Emily was able to donate her eyes as an organ donor.
Emily worked at the Hillcroft Center in Muncie and was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church and church choir. She was also active in Special Olympics and enjoyed bowling, softball and track and field.
Emily is survived by her parents, Phil and Marcia Nikirk, of Anderson; brothers, Michael Nikirk, of Collingdale, Penn. and Matt Nikirk and special niece, Lucy Nikirk, of Fishers; step-sister, Megan (McCain) White and husband, Mike of Anderson. Also surviving are her grandmothers, aunts, uncle and cousins as well as a special group of roommates and friends at the Group Home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann (Henry) Champ and grandfathers, Robert Nikirk and Gerald Henry.
An open visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Chesterfield Christian Church, followed by a family only Memorial Service with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
