Eva O. Skillman, 98, of Indianapolis, passed away Feb. 9, 2017, at Brownsburg Meadows, Brownsburg, after a brief illness.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1919, in Glasgow, Ky. She retired from JCPenney in 1974 after 20 years of service.
She was a great gardener, meticulous housekeeper, loved birds, crocheting and sweets. She and her husband, Marvin, enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling.
Eva is survived by her son, Bradley (Donna) Skillman; grandchildren, Joshua Skillman, and Kristiana (Nick) Cox; great-granddaughter, Emma Sophia Cox; stepchildren, Jerry Lou Skillman, Ronald Skillman and David Skillman; sister, Zona (Bob) Oft; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Irma Barber.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Lena Phillips; father, Thomas Phillips; husband, Marvin Skillman; stepsons, Marvin Skillman Jr. and Eddie Bill Skillman; siblings, Jeanette Crabill, Ola Mae Mangold, Joe Phillips, Tommy Phillips, Otis Phillips and Howard "Ollie" Phillips.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Weber officiating. Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
