Forrest W. "Newt" Wallace, Anderson, passed away at his home on May 27, 2017, at the age of 85.
He was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Anderson, the son of Earl and Etta Wallace.
Forrest was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War from 1950-1954. He was an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Forrest enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; two brothers, John Wallace and Bob Wallace; three children, Terry (Penny) Wallace, Brett Douglas Wallace and Diana (Tim) Mudd; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Wallace; sister, June Porter; and a son, Rick Wallace.
In his honor, a family and friend Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at the VFW from 2 to 6 p.m.
