Gordon Lee Dowden, 74, of Markleville, passed away June 29, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 14, 1942, in Anderson.
Gordon graduated from Pendleton High School, Class of 1960.
He retired in 1999 from Guide Lamp after 26 years of service where he worked as a skilled trades mechanic.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (McIntyre) Dowden of Markleville; daughter, Tammy (James) Rigney of Fairmount; son, Brian (companion, Lisa) Dowden of Markleville; nine grandchildren, Jimmy Rigney, Chuck Rigney, Jessie Rigney, Shiloh Rigney, Megan Cox, Ashley Rigney, Gordon Rigney, Josh Crawl, and Tiffany Dowden; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Wilbur Dowden; and mother, Mona Jean Dowden.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
