Henry's Story

MUNCIE [mdash] Henry A. Kaiser (Col., Ret.), 93, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 7, 2017, at Morrison Woods.
He was born on Nov. 14, 1923, in Vincennes, the son of Henry M. and Josephine (Wetzel) Kaiser and graduated from St. Meinrad Seminary.
Henry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Air-Corps/U.S. Air Force from December 1942 to December 1971 retiring as a Colonel after 29 years of service. He flew in the Berlin Air Lift and Vietnam. After the Air Force, he flew for Allegheny Community until 1978 and then worked as a corporate pilot.
Henry was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Muncie Elks and the Order of Daedalians. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne M. Spears of Scottsville, Ky., and Donna L. Burke of Muncie; five sons, Michael H. Kaiser (wife, Angel) of Atlanta, Ga., Charles W. Kaiser (wife, Cathy) of Savannah, Ga., Robert W. Kaiser (wife, Becky) of Greenwood, Thomas L. Kaiser (wife, Janet) of Millersville, Md., and Timothy L. Kaiser (wife, Kathy) of Anderson; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Virginia Ruth (Farmer) Kaiser on Aug. 29, 2008; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson St., Muncie, with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating. Final interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
