Jack P. Brown, 88, of Carmel, passed away April 4, 2017.
He was born May 27, 1928, in Anderson, to Archie and Edith (Cookman) Brown.
A 1954 graduate of Ball State University, Jack participated in ROTC and was a member of the varsity golf team. He served in the Air National Guard before returning to Indiana to work as a golf professional and in the life insurance business. Over a 50-year career in the insurance business with One America, Jack was a qualifier for the Million Dollar Roundtable. He served as the president of the Carmel Dads' Club in the early days of the organization. An avid golfer, Jack was a member of the Fox Prairie Men's Club and the Indiana State Senior Golf Association and regularly participated in their events during retirement.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Terry (Steven) Wamsley; son, David (Donna) Brown; mother of his two children, Marie G. Brown; grandchildren, Crystal (Air Force E5 Staff Sargent Justin) Anderson, Caitlyn Wamsley, Lindsey Brown, and Kathryn Brown; great- granddaughters, Braidyn, Madalyn, and Ryleigh Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert F. Brown.
A memorial gathering will be held at Leppert Mortuary-Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.
