James 'James''s Story
James "Jim" "50" Edward Wright, 67, of Frankton, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1949, in Elwood to Herman and Norma (Smith) Wright. He served our Country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. Jim was formerly on the Frankton Volunteer Fire Department, and was a Reserve Deputy for the Frankton Police Department for many years. He formerly worked for many years at Air Foil Textron (Excello) in Elwood prior to it closing.
He was a member of the Frankton Christian Church and was co-owner of C & J Firearms in Frankton.
On March 29, 1989, Jim married the love of his life, Sandra (Hoover) Wright. He enjoyed taking care of many yards for people in the local area, riding his motorcycle, and racing RC cars with his grandson. Jim retired in 2015 from Frankton-Lapel School Corp. where he was head of maintenance for many years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra (Hoover) Wright of Frankton; daughter, Shawna (Jon) Harrison of Frankton; son, Chi (Tina) Baldwin of Frankton; son, Peter (LeAnn) Wright of Oaklandon; son, Jim (Amanda) Wright of Oaklandon; daughter, Kelli Wright of Lapel; grandchildren, Codey Harrison, Colt, Chianne and Shaley Baldwin, Jack, Kennedy, and Mackinzie Wright, Morgan Howard, and Chelsea Covey; sister, Alma (Troy) Rich, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service to celebrate Jim's life and honor his military service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler St., with Jerry Hoss officiating.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
