James C. Couch, 79, of Frankton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.
Jim was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Anderson, to Omery and Cora (Everhart) Couch.
On April 2, 1955, he married Clara (Clevenger) Couch. Jim retired from Guide Lamp of Anderson in 1997 after 27 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 663 and the Plumbers Union 661.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Clara (Clevenger) Couch; sons, James (Lisa) Couch of Frankton and Darrell (Christi) Couch of Orestes; daughters, Terrie Couch of Frankton and Tamera Couch of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Derek (Jan) Couch, Darren (Katera) Couch, Erica Couch, Kristen (Chris) Robinson, Clinton Couch, Britney (Jason) Correll, Amanda Armendariz and Elizabeth Armendariz; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Couch of Frankton and Wayne Couch of Anderson; sister, Evelyn Clendenen of Frankton; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Darrell Couch II; brothers, David, Chuck, and Bill Couch; and sisters, Ruth Ferguson, Ruby Hill, Edna Hughes, and Barbara Humbert.
Funeral service celebrating Jim's life will be Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton with Pastor Eric Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
