James's Story

James Dennis Ellsworth was born on Sept. 11, 1944, to Herman and Mabel (Kerschner) Ellsworth. He passed away March 2, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He attended Anderson Community Schools. He was retired from Carter Express and had also worked several years as semi-truck driver and at Emge's.
He was a private first class (E2) in the United States Marines during the 1960's.
He enjoyed playing golf and pool. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 127 and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ellsworth; two sons and a daughter, Brian (Tammy) Ellsworth, J.D. (Erin) Ellsworth and Trecia (Gary) Collins; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings, G. Wayne, Steve and Tim Ellsworth and Linda Windham; as well as a sister-in-law, Diane Ellsworth, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim is also survived by his best friend and pool buddy, Ralph (Sandra) Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mabel Ellsworth; and three brothers and two sisters, Terry Ellsworth, Doug Ellsworth, Gary Ellsworth, Janet Lyons and Marlene Doddridge.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Military rites will take place at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
