James A. Lane, 75, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield.
He was born Aug. 25, 1941, in New Castle, the son of Charles H. and Cora E. (Bowne)Lane.
Jim graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1960 and then worked for the high school for five years. He was a retired factory worker, having worked with various companies. Jim was a truck driver for the City of New Castle for 10 years. He was also a city water meter reader, trash pickup and worked in various other departments of the city. He attended Turning Point Church in New Castle.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Lane of Middletown; a sister, Kathleen Barrett of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Marie Lane of Westport; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Charles Lane; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lane; and a brother-in-law, Bob Barrett.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Rev. Matt Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
