Jane A. Kurtz, 91, Summitville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at the Summit Convalescent Center in Summitville following an extended illness.
She was born on April 2, 1925, in Iron River, Mich., to Sam and Ann (Mahon) Munro, and has lived in the Summitville area since 1949. She had worked at RCA, formerly of Marion. She retired from Taylor University in 1986 as assistant manager of the bookstore.
Jane was a 50-year member of the Summitville United Methodist Church, the Psi Iota Xi sorority and the OPC Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, James (Tina) Kurtz of Borrego Springs, Calif., the Rev. Larry (Connie) Kurtz of Avon, and Ken (Connie) Kurtz of Summitville;
seven cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Jeff, Jon, Eric, Aaron, Cara and Kyle; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Kurtz in 2001; and a daughter, Kathleen Kurtz in 1954.
Services honoring Jane's life and legacy will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, with the Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Private interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville.
Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home after 12 noon on Friday prior to the service.
