Jo Ann Hamilton Alspaugh, 88, Middletown, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at St Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson. She was born May 10, 1928, in Anderson, to the late Kenneth and Mable Hamilton.
Jo Ann graduated from Anderson High School in 1946.
On Aug. 6, 1953, she married Wayne Alspaugh in San Clemente, California. Her parents, her husband and her son, Gary, preceded her in death.
Jo Ann enjoyed her work at Delco Remy for 30 years, retiring in August 1981.
She was an active member of the Middletown chapter of Eastern Star.
Jo Ann loved decorating her home and sewing, making clothes for herself and many family members. She also created miniature clothes for her niece's Barbie dolls. She enjoyed visits from her brother and sister-in-law.
Survivors include her brother, Jack Hamilton, and a niece; both living in the Avon/Plainfield area.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Freedom International Ministries - a bilingual Christian school in the Dominican Republic (www.itisforfreedom.com) or the Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mda.org) in JoAnn's memory.
