John F. Worthington, 82, of Middletown, passed away June 3, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Parksville, Kentucky, and resided most of his life in the Anderson area.
John graduated from Bourbon County High School in Paris, Kentucky.
He was retired from Delco Remy, Division of General Motors after 30-plus years.
He was a member of East Side Church of God in Anderson.
John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to read, sports and going to the races at the Anderson Speedway.
John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bertie Worthington of Middletown; three sons, John F. (Patty) Worthington II of Russiaville, Lewis (Jennifer) Worthington of Lansing, Michigan, and Jeff Worthington of Middletown; two sisters, Sara Nisbet of South Haven, Michigan, and Cordelia Moran of Maysville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Rachel Hamilton, Joshua Worthington, Jennah Worthington, Loryn Worthington, and Caleb Worthington; two great-grandchildren, Rosalind Hamilton, and Vincent Hamilton. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Becky Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bettie Worthington; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
