Joseph "Joe" Carl Raiser, 67, of Chesterfield, died Jan. 4, 2017, at home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 19, 1949, in Muncie, to Norman Everett and Alice (Monroe) Raiser.
He retired on Aug. 1, 2014, from many years of hard work, which included 15 years at General Motors, 15 years at Ricker's and then Flodrolics in McCordsville.
He was involved with Chesterfield Little League softball and a volunteer with the Chesterfield Fire Department for 20 years. He also helped with several Habitat for Humanity homes.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barb (Brashear) of Chesterfield, whom he married Sept. 27, 1968; three daughters, Shannon Raiser (Todd) Scott, Heather Raiser and Carrie Geeskie; foster daughter, Amanda Ancil; grandchildren, Chris Raiser, Brittany Allport, Crystal Scott, Gage (Whitney) Geeskie, Carlie Geeskie, Josie Raiser and Kaden Erlandson; great-grandchildren, Colton Mitchell, Bentley Thompson, Emilia Craver, Sean Craver, Crayson Thompson, Carrie Daulton, Lucy and Scarlit Geeskie; siblings, Jim (Kathy) Raiser, Kathy Smith, Diana Brashear and Tom Brashear; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5:30 on Saturday before the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity.
