Larry Dale Blackmond, 75, of Warren, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at his home in Warren.
He was born Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1941, in Parma, Missouri. He married Ann Blackmond on Friday, Aug. 30, 1963 in Anderson; together the two have celebrated almost 54 years of marriage.
Larry was a graduate of Madison Heights High School and retired from General Motors in Fort Wayne, after many years of service. He was a member of McNatt United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, golfing, painting, playing the guitar and loved animals and music. Larry's passion in life was spending time with his family; family meant everything to him.
Loving survivors include his wife, Ann Blackmond, Warren; sons, William Blackmond, Frankton, Robert (Anita) Blackmond, Frankton; daughter, Pamela (Steven) Williams, Monticello; sister, Anita Green, Michigan; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Blackmond; mother, Lora (Pope) Blackmond; brother, Cecil Scheffler; and sisters, Barbara Biggs and Jean Johnson.
Family and friends gathered to share and remember at McNatt United Methodist Church, 9183 W. 800 90-S, Warren, on May 1 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Larry's life followed at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bill VanHaften officiating. In honor of Larry's wishes, he was cremated after the services.
