Larry James Carr, 75, of Anderson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 22, 2017, at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Anderson, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Larry graduated from Anderson High School, Class of 1960.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He retired from Diamond Chain in Indianapolis, where he worked as a tool and die maker.
He attended South Meridian Church of God, where he was active in the share groups, and he was a part of Stephen Ministry.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed World War II war planes.
Larry is survived by his loving wife whom he married June 20, 1981, Sylvia (Ferguson) Carr of Anderson; two sons, Larry Jay (Susan) Carr of Huntington, and Perry Lewis (Donna) Carr of Jefferson, South Carolina; two stepdaughters, Jill (Kent) Modlin of Corning, Arkansas, and Joy (Micah) Mitchell of Anderson; two brothers, Charles (Linda) Carr of Sumter, South Carolina, and Tom (Mary) Carr of Anderson; two grandchildren, Kayleigh Carr and Tiler Carr; five stepgrandchildren, Nicholas (Jennifer) Modlin, Benjamin (Alexis) Modlin, Jacob Modlin (fiancee, Brittany Corder), Joshua Derrickson, and Aaron Mitchell; eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Perry Edwards Carr; mother, Alice Rose Carr; and sister, Lois Fenwick.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at the funeral home with the Revs. Ed Hyatt and Kent Modlin officiating.
Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 446.
Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Group at South Meridian Church of God.
