Mary Ann Brown, 76, of Alexandria, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson after an extended illness.
Mary was born July 27, 1940, in Winchester, the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Compton) Lucas. On Aug. 23, 1980, she married Steven P. Brown who survives.
Mary was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid fisherman and camper.
She was a retired cashier from Pay Less Super Markets in Anderson.
Mary is survived by her husband of 36 years, Steven P. Brown; her sons, John (Tammy) Martin, Wayne (Helen) Iteen, Roger Iteen, and Wade Brown; two daughters, Rose (George) McDonough, and Rachel Brown. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Lucas.
Services will be held at noon Thursday at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria, with Bud Whetsel officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Rittenhour Cemetery, Ridgeville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.
