Michael Hayes Garrett, 67, of Avon, passed away July 10, 2017, at his daughter's residence in Westfield.
He was born on May 10, 1950, in Burkesville, Ky.
Michael graduated from Anderson High School.
He was in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division who served during Vietnam War.
He retired from Allison Transmission in Speedway where he worked in skilled trades.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 23.
Michael is survived by his three daughters, Kalie (Cameron) Byrd of Westfield, Brittney Garrett of Markleville, and Samantha Medjeski of Camby; three sons, Nathan Garrett of Anderson, Timothy (Heather) Medjeski, and Nicholas Medjeski, both of Avon; fiancée, Paula Medjeski of Avon;
two sisters, Sandra (Ronnie) Engle of Anderson and Terri (Ronnie) Ottensmeier of Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by father, Eddie Garrett; and mother, Nannie Garrett.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be Saturday, July 15, 2017, 11:30 am at the funeral home with Charlie Soden officiating.
Cremation will take place and burial at later date in Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
