Nancy Jane Bennett, 84, Springport, passed away Jan. 28, 2017, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1932, in Anderson, to the late Michael and Wilma (McWithney) Kirchner.
Nancy graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. She was a treasurer of the past Luray Nazarene church.
She enjoyed playing UNO with her granddaughters, drawing and sketching. She would design holiday cards for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening in her younger years. She was known as a good cook, especially her fruit salad, strawberry pie, and her lemon lime Kool-aid.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lowell Bennett; children, Floyd (Marta) Bennett of Plainfield, Cheri Sturgeon of Monticello, and Kevin Bennett of Springport; grandchildren, Dawn (Greg) Semmler, Floyd (Jodi) Bennett, Amber (Rickie) Pryor, Christina (Tommy) Lyons, Brittany (fiancé, Antonio) Sturgeon, Courtney Sturgeon, Shelby Sturgeon, and Kevin Melton; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild due in July; brother, Jack Kirchner of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Dean; and a brother, Dennis Kirchner.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
