Patricia L. (Anderson) King, 89, Alexandria, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Alexandria, to Lee and Cora (Alderson) Anderson and had lived in Alexandria since 1989.
Patricia received her nurse's training in Chicago and worked as an LPN at Porter Memorial Hospital, Little Company of Mary and the Jasper County Hospital.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Elwood.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Durham of Alexandria; two sons, Malcolm (Carol) King Jr. of Wheatfield and Dr. Terry (Dr. Deborah) King of Buford, S.C.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Anderson of Muncie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm E. King in 2007; and 11 brothers and sisters
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria.
The Madison County Nursing Honor Guard will conduct a memorial service at 4:50 p.m., which will close the calling hours.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. EST (noon CST) on Friday at the Wheatfield Town Cemetery, Wheatfield, Ind.
