ATLANTA, Ga. — Richard "Dick" Lewis Sigler lost his battle to cancer on Feb. 23, 2017.
He was a 1964 graduate of Swayzee High School and a 1964 graduate of Barber School in Marion.
He served in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. He was a a radio operator directing bombs behind enemy lines.
He resided in Atlanta, Ga., where he owned a hair replacement business. He was an avid reader and traveled extensively in search of knowledge. He could converse on any subject.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Sigler; mother, Wilma (Goatcher) Sigler; brother, Adrin Sigler; and niece, Kimberly (Rheam) McCormick.
He is survived by brothers, Frank Sigler (wife Becky) and Tom Sigler; sister, Patsy Sigler Rheam (Ron); nephews, Frank Sigler (wife Heather), Adam Sigler, Erick Rheam, wife Alia; niece, Nikki Holden (husband Brian); and several great-nieces and nephews.
Any memorial contributions can be given to any veterans association in memory of his service in Vietnam.
There will be a private family memorial at a later date.
