Robert Eugene Jameson Sr. passed away late evening on Thursday, March 2, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born in Elwood on Dec. 7, 1936, to Frank Jameson Sr. and Agnes LaShure Jameson. He was retired from Delco Remy in Anderson.
He is survived by his companion, Irma Heil Dix, with whom he has spent the past 23 years in Yorktown. Robert leaves behind two daughters, Brenda Fleury, of Portland, Oregon, and Chreyl Clemons of Muncie, along with two stepdaughters, Susie Stenley, of Yorktown, and Andrea Marlette, of Anderson. Also, two brothers, Charles Jameson and wife Dana, of Frankton, and Frank Jameson Jr. and wife Murill, of Woodburn, Oregon. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Jameson Jr.; a brother, Jerry Jameson; and a sister, Patricia Taylor and her husband, Ernest Taylor; as well as his parents.
Robert loved to play golf all his life.
Friends may call at Jackley-Landrum Funeral Home, 1629 Main St., Elwood, from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Rodney Ellis of the First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Elwood.
