Russell Milan "Rusty" Davis went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.
Rusty was born Aug. 21, 1950, to Russell and Bertha Davis in Anderson.
Rusty attended Shadeland Elementary and Central Jr. High. He moved to St. Louis, Mo. in 1967 and graduated from Soldan High School in 1969. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Rusty served in the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged. Rusty was employed by General Motors and retired in 2008. He loved spending time with his family.
Rusty leaves to cherish his memories, his beautiful daughters, Tamekia L. Barclay of Anderson, and India S. Davis of Shreveport, La.; siblings, Connie Davis, Ronald (Francis) Davis, Mark (Eileen) Davis, Linda (Dave) Hampton, Kevin Jennings and Craig (Lori) Jennings; four grandchildren, Davon, Jerome, Tamia Barclay and King Davis; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Bertha Davis; brother, Roy Davis; and granddaughter, Alexies Jones Robinson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope United Methodist Church, 1503 Rev. J.T. Menifee St., Anderson, Internment will follow in Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
