Ruth A. Hummer, 65, Fairmount, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
Ruth was born on April 19, 1951 in Elwood to Omer and Irene (Bloom) Hollingsworth and has lived in Fairmount for the past 14 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzle books. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was the time spent with her family, especially her three grandsons.
Survivors husband,Larry D. Hummer Sr., married June 27, 1971; daughters, Heather Hummer and Kimberly Hummer, both of Fairmount; son, Larry Dale (Melanie) Hummer II, Anderson; grandsons, Seth Kroft and Aden Kroft,and Jacob Hummer; brothers, Denny (Grace) Hollingsworth, Fairmount, Mike Hollingsworth, Summitville, and Leon (Marjorie) Hollingsworth, Anderson;
sisters, Joyce Butcher, Fairmount, Loretta (Keith) Dow, Alexandria, Carol (Denzil) Elsworth,Summitville;in-laws-Leo (Evelyn) Hummer, Luann Hasty, Dean Hummer; and everal nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beverly McCleery, Betty Hall, Margaret Figel, Helen Marie Hollingsworth, Shirley Cole, Dorothy Groom and Rosie Glass; and sister-in-law, Darline Hummer.
Services honoring Ruth's life and legacy will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 West Walnut Street, Summitville, with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating. Internment will follow.
