Ruth Juanita Welborn, 95, Summitville, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Summit Convalescent Center in Summitville following an extended illness.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1921, in Summitville, to Romie and Alice (Dailey) Tomlinson and graduated from Summitville High School, Class of 1939. She retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1982 after 30 years of employment.
She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662 and the Killbuck Retirees.
Ruth was a longtime member of the Summitville First Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed traveling, ceramics and was a skilled seamstress. She was a loyal fan of Summitville High School athletics.
Survivivors include two sons, Mike (Rosemary) Welborn of Summitville, and Jim Welborn of Anderson; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Shirley Welborn of Summitville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Welborn, in 1972; son, Ronald Welborn in 2015; three brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will take place at noon Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Pastor Nathan Lutterman will officiate.
Owens-Noffze Funeral Home in Summitville is entrusted with arrangements for the Welborn family.
