Sadie Carmella (LaPollo) Porcaro, 96, of Anderson, died June 21, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield after an extended illness.
Sadie was born Oct. 9, 1920, in New York City, N.Y., the daughter of Anthony and Carmella (Evangiliste) LaPollo.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Paul S. Porcaro of Anderson, whom she married Oct. 25, 1942; her son, Dr. Joseph (Joanne) Porcaro of Anderson; four grandchildren, Kathleen (Dan) Shepler of Anderson, Paul Porcaro of Anderson, Theresa (Joe) Wrin of Pendleton, and Christine (Brandon) Galbraith of Kokomo; 17 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Audrey, Andrew, Sarah Shepler, Brennan, Kate, Helen, Mara, Sadie, Brogan and Stella Wrin, Kaelyn, William and Ayvah Scarberry, Owen, Adelynn and Nora Galbraith and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Rago; and three brothers, Carl, Anthony and Rocco LaPollo.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society.
