Savannah A. Currie, 60, died on April 8, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
Savannah was born on Aug. 5, 1956, in Jackson, Miss., to James S. Currie Sr. (Bobbie Jean) and Ruby L. Webster-Currie.
Prior to disability she had been employed at JobSource, Pendleton Reformatory, and the Juvenile facility.
Savannah enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and going to Bingo. She also enjoy spending time with family and friends, but most of all the time spent with her son and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her current Mother, Bobbie J. Currie of Jackson, Miss.; son, Tony T. Currie of Anderson; grandchildren, Stacia S. Currie of Muncie, Tonisha R. Currie of Anderson, and Tony T. Currie Jr. of Marion; brothers, Michael Currie of Anderson, and Ernest Wade of Jackson, Miss.; sisters, Brenda Hamilton of Anderson, and Iristeen (Robert) Gatlin of Jackson, Miss., Pamela (Cleveland) Riggins of Marion, Charmin Currie of Indianapolis, Marsha, Janice, and Alisha Currie, all of Anderson; and a host of special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Currie Sr.; mother, Ruby L. Webster-Currie; brothers, James (Dee) Currie Jr., and Darryl B. Currie; sisters, Debra Turner and Shonda Currie; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Services will be Friday at noon at Church Upon the Rock, 303 E. 29th St., Anderson. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.
