Sharon Kay Matheson, 75, Pendleton, passed away May 8, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1941, in Harlan, Kentucky.
Sharon graduated from Purdue University as a nontraditional student with a bachelor's degree in computer programming.
She worked in Civil Service in the United States and Germany from 1975-1995, attaining a GS12 rating, and H&R Block from 1998-2002. She and her husband traveled extensively in the United States and abroad before returning to Anderson.
She was a very active member of Mount Pleasant Community Church and regular volunteer at the Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynn (Will Saylor) Neuendorf; stepdaughter, Theresa Joan Vickers; beloved rotten dog, Sox; several dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Lynn Matheson; and parents, Mary (Roberts) and Kenneth Gibbs.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken Mishler officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
Sharon had a love of animals so to honor her, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Madison County, P.O. Box 637, Anderson, IN 46015 or to help military families, contributions may be made to the Fishers House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850.
