Thelma S. Pope, 83, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a stroke and complications.
She was born on April 30, 1933, in Columbia, Ky., to Willie and Nora Scott. She was raised in Columbia, Ky., and had resided in Anderson for the past 65 years.
Thelma worked at Frisch's Anderson Big Boy Restaurant, RCA in Marion for 10 years and then retired from Guide Division of General Motors after 30 years of service.
She attended Park Place Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Welsheimer of Anderson; her son-in-law, Paul Keesling of Columbia, Tenn.; five stepchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat- grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, including Allene Stone who helped care for Thelma; two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brenda and Cliff Henderson and Barbara Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Henry Owen Stone and Henry Clifton Pope; her son, Philip Wayne Stone; and her daughter, Polly Ann Keesling.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson with Pastor David Reames officiating. Entombment will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
