Theodore R. "Ted" Harless, 95, formerly of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Signature Health Care in Muncie. Ted was born on July 12, 1921, in Anderson, to Charles and Vada (Moore) Harless.
On Sept. 20, 1941, he married the love of his lifem Dorothy Alice (Riley) Harless they shared 70 years of marriage together before she passed away on Jan. 9, 2012.
Ted was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in Egypt, Libya, Italy, and Tunisia. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of service and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, watching sports, and going to auctions.
Theodore is survived by two daughters, Jody (Mike) Pardue and Judy Redlinger, all of Alexandria; two sons, Johnny (Pam) Harless and Jerry Harless, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Randy (Julie) Clendenin, Scott (Wendy) Harless, Ryon (Lisa) Harless, Kelly Thompson, Chris Roberts, Sharyl Amee, and Sandy Beer; 18 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lela Remington of California; sister-in-law, Marybelle Harless of Pendleton; and several nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Mary Thompson, Alice Boyd, and Opal Hiatt; brothers, Bill, Willard, and Clearance Harless; and grandson, Robert Clendenin.
Funeral service celebrating Ted's life will be at noon Monday at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton with Pastor Tim Stigers officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison County 4-H Horse & Pony.
