Thomas Oatley Clevenger, 83, resident of Daleville, passed away Jan. 22, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
He was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Randolph County, the son of Edwin and Mary Wood Clevenger.
He had lived in Winchester before moving to Daleville
He had been a welder at Westinghouse, worked as custodian at Daleville Schools and at worked at True Value Hardware in Anderson.
He attended the Daleville United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, painting, reading, writing letters and walking at Shadyside Park.
He is survived by his children, Clifford Owen Clevenger (Brenda) of Sheridan, Wyo., and Yolanda (Dan) Miller of Alberton, Mont.; longtime companion, Lilly Overby of Anderson, and her children, Debbie Witcher, and Brian and Mike Overby, all of Anderson; five grandchildren; nephew, Ed (Jean) Laughman of Winchester; and a niece, Jane (Ron) Dickey of Union City.
He was preceded in death his wife, Linda (Wean) Clevenger; son, Mark Clevenger; sister, Betty Laughman; and granddaughter, Candice Miller.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 S. Walnut St., Daleville, with Pastor Glenn Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call from noon until the time of the services.
