Thomas Lee Smith, 80, of Anderson, passed away on Sept. 4, 2017.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1936, in Kokomo to Virgil and Dorothy (Reel) Smith and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Tom graduated from Kokomo High School in 1954 and Ball State University in 1958, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
He was employed by Best Ever Dairy and Marsh Supermarket, extremely active in Shadyside Little League, the Anderson High School Basketball Boosters and all things related to his kids and grandkids.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and college sweetheart, Dee (Harmon) Smith of Anderson, whom he married in 1959; two sons, Jim (Kathy) Smith of Indianapolis, and Scott (Sarah) Smith of Anderson; daughters, Kelly (Mike) Boebinger of West Lafayette and Jeannette (Dusty) Smith-Brown; sister, Sue Ann (Bernard) Tickfer of Kokomo; eight grandchildren, Joel, Jacob (Emily), Jay (Amanda) Smith, Jordan Smith, Nathan (Joey) and Mitchell Smith, Megan and Sara Boebinger; three great-grandsons, Braxton, Findley and Walker; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son Jeffrey Smith and parents.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with services immediately following and Rev. Bill Mathys officiating.
