Victor Robert Gulickson, a resident of Sacramento, Calif., died on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at the age of 80.
Victor was born on Jan. 8, 1937, in Rice Lake, Wis., the son of Victor Hubert Gulickson and Mariam (Hamilton) Gulickson.
He grew up in Canton, Wis., and attended school there.
He married Virginia "Ginny" Sarber on Dec. 18, 1955, and after attending foreign language training at Indiana University with the Air Force they spent several years in Germany. Upon their return to the United States they lived and raised their family in Anderson, Ind., where Vic worked for several years at Burroughs corporation as a repair technician before joining the Delco Remy division of General Motors as a test maintenance engineer.
Vic was very active in the local community as a Little League baseball coach and Explorer Scout Leader. He enjoyed photography, boating and fishing.
Vic is survived by his son, Vance R. Gulickson of McKinney, Texas; his wife, Denise (Seeb) Gulickson; and grandchildren, Jeremy Gulickson of Manhattan, N.Y. and Kylie (Michael) Patti of Richardson, Texas. Vic is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn Gulickson of Rice Lake, Wis., Peggy (Kenny) Severson of Appleton, Wis.; and brother, Fred Gallatin of Rice Lake, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Sarber) Gulickson; son, Vincent Roger Gulickson; mother, Mariam (Hamilton) Gallatin; and father, Victor Hubert Gulickson
A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home in Folsom, Calif. Burial will take place at a later date at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, Ind.
