Walter H. Sides, 90, of Pendleton, passed away April 2, 2017, at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.
He was born on Aug. 13, 1926, in Winston Salem, N.C.
He retired in 1994 after 17 years of service for the State of Indiana where he worked in testing & research, and also worked at Anaconda Wire where he retired in 1974 after 31 years of service.
He was a member of Pendleton Baptist Church, and Lambert's Life Club.
Walter is survived by his two sons, Dale (Teresa) Sides of Madison, and Ronald E. (Faye)Sides of Albion; daughter, Susan (Dennis) Seal of Pendleton; sister, Eunice (Lester) Filbrun of Lapel; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Betty Williamson of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by father, Owen Sides; mother, Susie Sides; wife, Billye V. Sides; second wife, Leah Sides; daughter, Debra Likens; sister, Florence Brubaker; sister, Phyllis Yoder; brother, Charles Sides; sister, Ruth Hudson; sister, Hester Metzger; brother, Joe Sides; brother, Lester Sides; brother, Oliver Sides; brother, Harley Sides; and sister, Ethel Jamison.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Clark officiating. Burial will take place in the Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
