William 'Bill''s Story
William Barringer "Bill" Walker, 84, of Anderson, died March 20, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital from fire-related injuries.
He was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Blacksburg, Va., the son of Roy James and Lola Eugenia (Barringer) Walker.
He was employed with the Indiana State Highway Department for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice Lee (Wilson) Walker of Anderson, whom he married Aug. 29, 1955, in Anderson; four children, Brenda Lee (Jerry) Williams, William Richard "Richie" (Pamela) Walker, Linda Marie (Danny) Huston, and Terri LeAnn (Douglas) Tupling; grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah) Williams, Anna Williams, Cory Whetten, Alex Thomas, Amanda Huston, Danielle Huston, William (Erin) Wire, Michael Tupling and Nichole Tupling; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Charlotte Williams, Andrew and Amaya Wire, Grace and Lizi Maier; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy Elliott, Robert and James Walker; and four sisters, Faye, Glenna, Wilda and Frieda.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Park Place Church of God with the Rev. Phil Bruzzese officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Park Place Church of God Pantry.
