William H. "Bill" Brown, 71, of Anderson, passed away on March 25, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1946, in Allons, Tenn., and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army.
He retired from Anderson Mattress Factory.
He loved fishing with his brother-in-law, Greg Bernard. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Jean Brown; sisters, Winnie Mathis, Betty (Gene) Hummel of Anderson, and Debra Fletcher of Elk Mote, Ala.; daughters, Robin (Craig) Newman of Taylorsville, Ky., and Lisa New of Burnside, Ky.; grandchildren, Thomas (Jasmine) Newman, Matthew (Lacey) Newman, and Tommy New; special great-grandchildren, Peyton and Willow Newman; sister-in-law, Crissie (Greg) Bernard; and special nephews, Kyle and Dustin Bernard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hettie Brown; and brothers, Kenny and Grady Brown.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Military rites will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by the service with Pastor Bill Ledbetter officiating. Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Humane Society.
