Alma S. York Obituary
Alma S. York, 101, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 28, 2025.
She was born on March 7, 1924, in Anderson, Indiana, where she resided all of her life.
Alma graduated from Markleville High School.
She worked for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, and retired after 30 years of service.
She loved flowers and crocheting, but she especially loved to spend time with her family.
Alma is survived by her loving daughters, Carolyn (Herb) Rose, Milena Nasir, and Claudia (John) Fink; grandchildren, Steven (Kim) Reeves, Vincent Reeves, James Rose, Ronald Rose, Jeff (Carrie) Long, Rachel (Aaron) McGuire, Andrea (Walter) Harris, Adrian Fink, and Carmen (Jason) Hannock; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Veva Smith; husband, Robert York; sister, Wilma Beatty; and brother, Gerald Smith.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
A graveside service will held immediately following visitation at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
