Anna Caroline Kelly
Anna Caroline (Zarse) Kelly, 33, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis after a sudden illness.
Anna was born on Oct. 6, 1986, in Anderson, to Richard and Kimberly (Grose) Zarse, and resided in Alexandria. She graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 2005 and attended both Purdue and Marian universities.
There was nothing Anna enjoyed more than being a mother to her two sons. Her dedication as a housewife and mother has given a solid foundation for her children's future. Anna, also loved babysitting for other local families in the St. Louis area. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, boating, and visiting museums, zoos, and parks with her family.
She was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior in Alexandria and more recently, Bethel Lutheran Church in St. Louis.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph S. Kelly, whom she married Dec. 17, 2011; sons, Michael Richard and Levi David Kelly, all of St. Louis; her parents, Richard and Kimberly Zarse of Alexandria; her in-laws, Michael and Deborah Kelly of Speedway; brothers, Aaron (Betsy) Zarse of Westfield, Micah (Lindsay) Zarse of Kingsport, Tennessee, and John (Molly) Zarse of Fort Wayne; brother in-law, Michael (Adam) Kelly of New York City; paternal grandmother, Joy Zarse of Anderson; maternal grandfather, Ralph Grose of Alexandria; along with her very special nieces and nephews, Riley, Wesley, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Leo; and her loving aunts, uncles, and many family friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Judy (Hocker) Grose; and paternal grandfather, Richard L. Zarse.
Anna's family is pleased that through her donating her organs, to this point, six individuals have received the gift of hope for a renewed life.
Services honoring Anna's life, legacy, and faith will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at the The Lutheran Church of Our Blessed Savior, 309 W. Washington St., Alexandria, with Pastor Kal Rissman officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. or at the church after noon on Monday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested for the benefit of Anna and Joe's sons' college education fund. Contributions should be marked Anna Zarse Kelly Memorial Fund and can be sent directly to the PNC Bank, 1934 Broadway St., Anderson, IN 46012 or donation envelopes will be available at the visitation and services.
