Ashley Lynne Abrams, 21, of Middletown, passed away Dec. 24, 2011, at Saint John's Medical Center in Anderson after an extended illness. She was born May 4, 1990, in Anderson, Ind., and resided in Madison and Hancock counties all of her life. She attended Shenandoah High School. Ashley was a member of the Anderson Esquire Club and Madison County 4-H Club. She loved her son and horses. Survivors include her son, Derek Hitchens of Middletown; mother, Regina (Moore) Funkhouser (Larry) of Middletown; father, Kevin Abrams of Greenfield; sister, Leslie Abrams of Markleville; grandparents, Ruth and Don Moore; several aunts and uncles; and boyfriend, Paul Williams. Ashley was preceded in death by her sister, Lindsey Abrams; grandparents, Geneva and Frank Abrams; uncle Rick Abrams; and an aunt, Sandy Woods. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Steve Gettinger. Burial will take place at Simmons Cemetery in Willow Branch, Ind.
