Betty Jean Brown, 90, of Hampshire, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
She was born on July 8, 1934, in Anderson, Indiana, to Charles and Daisy (Buckles) Motsinger. She was a 1953 graduate of Anderson High School. She retired from General Motors after many years of dedication and service.
Betty was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was involved in the Si Cappa Delphi sorority. After retiring from GM, she was involved in several fundraisers, helping many people. She was a great cook who made the best chicken and noodles ever! She enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a caregiver for her mom, Daisy, who lived to be over 100, for over 20 years. She did this with love, care and sacrifice. She loved her family and they were her life.
Betty was a shopper. She loved shopping for and giving things to her grandkids. However, things had to be on sale. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She would have so many presents that she had purchased and she loved gifting.
Betty is survived by three children, Susan (husband, Don) James, Charles (wife, Brenna) Brown and Floyd (wife, Susan) Brown; brother, Thomas Motsinger; seven grandchildren, Erica (husband, Timothy) Scott, Sandy (husband, Michael) Wood, Nicholas (wife, Crystal) Brown, Charles Brown, Aaron Abbott, Scott Abbott, Matthew James and McKensie James; eight great-grandchildren, Chloe (husband, Quinton) Dwinell, Kurt Scott, Karter Scott, Emri (husband, Cole) Hodge, Eden Wood, Evan Wood, Mila Brown and Lily Abbott; and one great-great-grandchild, Stetson Hodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Floyd Motsinger.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
