New Castle, IN - Brian J. Shipley, 44, passed away April 20, 2026, peacefully after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1981, in Anderson. Brian was a graduate of Anderson High School and had worked in home care, assisting those with disabilities to remain in their own homes.
He was active in music, singing and theater in the New Castle area. He enjoyed crocheting, sunflowers, his cats, Harry Potter and he loved the color green.
He is survived by his partner, Dale Lowe; siblings, Suzanne (Brian) Shipley, Michael (Angela) Benefiel, Stacy Retherford; best friends, Brittany (Paul) LeMaster; aunts, Angela (Chuck) Butts, Gail Alfrey-Simmons, Judy Reagan; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Shirley Shipley; grandparents, Charles and Betty Shipley; cousin, Jennifer HcHatton; siblings, Jr. and Kelly Benefiel; and his cats, Riaha, Uriaha, and Muddy Foot.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
